Yu Lin Humm began formal training in classical music, theatre, and ballet at age five in Milan, later pursuing jazz studies in New York City and Berlin. She has released over ten albums on Creative Sources Records and performed her solo album Islas Resonates at Art Basel, MONOM 4DSOUND & Neue National Galerie in Berlin, at the European Commission in Brussels, among other hundreds of other venues. Her works aim to expand our sensorial perception to the natural organism we belong to with immersive audiovisual installations - see News for previous works.

As a composer, she authored the original soundtrack for Threads (dir. Levan Sikharulidze) and the original music for the Rochas FW23 three-hour long presentation in Paris. Her score for the Motelx 2020 trailer received a Gold Award from the Art Director's Club Europe and a Silver Award from the Creative Club Portugal. She’s regularly composing music for immersive installations and art exhibitions, dance shows and fashion shows.

After a BA in Performing and Visual Arts at the University of Lisbon - Majors in Cinema and Literature -  and a professional degree in Documentary Filmmaking at KinoDoc Lisboa, she produced and directed the 30-minute underwater art-house film Islas Resonantes (2023), screened at the Triennale and Diocesano Museum, Milan. Author of non-fiction books, and releasing essays on Substack, she has written her debut feature fiction film, Roots Run Deep, and provides creative consultancy on scripts.
